VERNACULAR ARCHIVES: BLOOD, MILK, FIRE, PUS

In Güneş Theatre, TERRARISTA TV experiments with artistic practices to counter the haunting of the residues and presences of the German colonial era with rituals. In contrast to the former colonial school in Witzenhausen, we conjure up affects and use the forensics of archives as portals, creating symbolic analogies to the neglected space of the archive - a lament to dust, mold, cobwebs and unwound clocks.

Terrarista TV was awarded a funding program by Hessen Film und Medien GmbH and is sponsored by the Kulturamt Stadt Kassel as well as Kunsthochschule Kassel to develop a multi-sensory, audiovisual installation in conversation with the former Deutsche Kolonialschule Witzenhausen and DITSL Witzenhausen to explore ways of dealing with German colonial heritage and its continuities.
